How to make Halo-Halo


HOW TO MAKE HALO-HALO


You still remember the colourful dessert that I've introduced in the previous post? Imagine how wonderful it is to have that kind of ice-cream in the heat of a summer day and when we can prepare it ourselves!


1. Halo-halo is a very popular dessert in the Philippines. Its name means "mix-mix" in Filipino. To make the ice-cream, first, we put kidney beans, nata de coco,kaong (sugar palm fruit), red beans, cardaba banana and sweet potatoes in a tall glass:

2. Then, fill the glass with shaved ice:

3. Topped with leche flan, ube (purple yam), pinipig or pounded crushed young rice. Actually, Vietnam also has this kind of rice, which is call "cốm:

4. And then make a smooth and cheesy dessert with evaporated milk and enjoy:

Quite simple, isn't it? In the restaurants, you may have much more beautiful versions of this ice-cream with many many  other flavors like this:
